Job Description
Biogen Idecs Rheumatology Area Business Manager (ABM) performs a pivotal and multi-functional role in implementing sales and marketing activities in a specified territory. The ABM is responsible for effectively and ethically cultivating sales for their respective territory, and will facilitate and enhance Biogen Idecs commercial efforts within the geography. The ABM will proactively manage changing market environments and must be able to address issues including third party reimbursement, managed care, and territory sales growth.
Performance History:
Successfully sold in highly competitive environment.
Models consultative and clinical sales approach. Uses total office/account selling.
Strong product knowledge, knowledge of competitors and disease management in respective therapeutic area.
Proven ability to work within a team; strong collaboration skills.
Self-starter; strong personal learning and self-development skills.
Strong business acumen.
Proven job tenacity and resilience in overcoming challenge.
Essential Functions:
Achieve established territory sales goals through clinical expertise, professional relationships, effective resource utilization, and strong interpersonal communication.
Develops and implements strategies to meet specific territory needs and objectives.
Work effectively with all internal and external partners and demonstrate consistent collaboration to manage customer and area business needs.
Manage territory budgets to maximize sales in an ethical and fiscally responsible manner.
Develop and implement a territory business plan that reflects extensive knowledge of customer and market dynamics.
Evaluate sales performance and generate periodic reports through the effective utilization of CRM.
Territory: Minnesota North
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years in pharmaceutical, specialty and/or hospital sales.
Preferred experience in Rheumatoid Arthritis, Autoimmune, Immunology and/or biologics.
Preferred experience in new product launch, key accounts, marketing and/or sales training.
Knowledge of managed care/reimbursement landscape required.
