Nursing Simulation Lab Technician
The location of the job is at Indian Valley College in Novato. This person will be responsible for maintaining the technical aspects of the Marin Simulation Center (MSC) which include high fidelity and mid-fidelity human patient simulators, computers, audio-visual and medical equipment. He/she will also act as a technical resource to faculty, staff and students in all aspects of simulation equipment and technology. This person will also be supervised by the Manager of the Marin Simulation Lab and will report to the Chair of the Nursing Department at Dominican University of California This is a fulltime, 40 hrs per week position with full benefits. The annual salary will be $52,909. This position is open until filled.
Responsibilities
Maintain all equipment within the MSC to ensure proper working order. Act as a liaison to simulator and other equipment vendors. Understand human patient simulation and all its capabilities, ability to troubleshoot issues related to technology. Set up scenarios as directed by the Simulation Center Manager or Faculty for student learning. Maintain the MSC website, as well as schedule calendar events, online reservation request form, and frequently used forms. Train staff and faculty as necessary on equipment, software and simulators.
Requirements
AS degree in healthcare field or an AA/AS degree with at least 5 years of related experience or the equivalent. Recent experience as clinical healthcare worker in pre-hospital, hospital, a medical military environment, EMT, C.N.A., RN, or hospital technician. Significant experience with technology required, as well as ability to learn new technology with ease. Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy/physiology (preferred). Creativity and flexibility in designing innovative approaches to solving problems. Ability to utilize audio-visual equipment effectively and to present data to diverse groups of stakeholders.
